Who We Are

To build capacity for better leverage for Young African women by empowering them with Basic Digital Skills.

About Us

Tech-Up Girls Initiative is a non-profit organization founded in 2021. Tech-Up Girls was established to empower young African women with basic digital skills that will bridge the technology gender gap and build capacity in the young women to thrive. We have implemented bootcamps that inspire, empower and train young women on basic digital skills needed for the future of work. Global figures show a startling economic disparity with women losing jobs at almost twice the rate of men and leaving 47 million more women and girls below the poverty line. While girls across the world tend to outperform boys in reading and writing skills, they continue to be under-represented in science, technology, engineering and mathematics (STEM). It is critical that our young women are equipped with the necessary skills to earn and thrive.
